A woman from Floyd County is facing arson charges for allegedly starting a fire to burn some grass which ended up catching her mother’s house on fire and threatening others.
Firefighters from David, Prestonsburg, Middle Creek and the Kentucky Division of Forestry worked on the fire for hours last Thursday after it started on Buckeye Branch of Blue River Road and ran up the hillside toward homes on Triple S Hollow, doing thousands of dollars’ worth of damage.
The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office says Kayla Combs is charged with arson and criminal mischief which are both felonies
