The Kentucky Wildcats Football Team ended the 2025 College Football Season with an Embarrassing Shutout Loss to in-state Rival Louisville (41-0) on Saturday. Louisville shut out the CATS for the first time since 2004 and it was the Cards’ biggest victory in the history of the Governors Cup series. Kentucky finishes the 2025 campaign with a 5-7 overall Record and 2-6 in the SEC.
Not only did the Loss End UK’s Football Season, it also Ended the Head Coach duties for Mark Stoops. It was announced on social media Sunday night that UK had made the Decision to let Stoops go after 13 seasons at Kentucky. Stoops, the all-time winningest coach in UK history, will receive $37 million as a result of his termination. His original contract required the University to pay the full amount within 60 days, but sources said Stoops is amenable to stretching the buyout over several years.
Coach Stoops went 82-80 in 13 seasons with Kentucky, finishing with two 10-win seasons and going 4-4 in bowl game appearances.
