An incident at Prestonsburg High School on Tuesday afternoon ended with a teenager being detained.
Prestonsburg Police and the Floyd County sheriff’s department were called to the school about a potential threat where two students said a third student had a firearm in his backpack.
Administrators placed the school on lockdown while police responded to the threat.
The investigation included a sweep of the building with no threat being found, but one juvenile was detained for making terroristic threats.
Both authorities and school officials said the lockdown was lifted after the issue was resolved.
