Daily work along Hargis Rd for the next two weeks
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of lane closures and delays for sealing and paving operations on KY 1409 in Johnson County starting this week.
Crews will begin the first stage of operations on Thursday, July 18, near mp 0.0 (intersection of KY 580) and continue through mile point 4.2(end-of-state maintenance). Operations will include a process called chip seal, which will cover the pavement with an oil and gravel sealant and then finish with a micro-surface asphalt mixture. The sealant process must cure for one week before applying the final surfacing. During the curing phase, motorists will need to use extra caution as the riding surface will be rough in texture. A 25mph speed limit will be posted in the work zone. Operations will occur from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. over the next two weeks. Schedules are subject to weather conditions.
Motorists must plan for delays and seek alternate routes during peak travel times. Onsite Flaggers will control traffic.
Strawser Construction has been contracted to perform the work. Please watch for signage and crew in the work zone.
