The fireworks display on July 5th in Paintsville was postponed because the company contracted to oversee the display said they were unable to do so promising a make-up date.
The news disappointed Mayor Bill Mike Runyon who apologized to the community that looked forward to the show.
Now, the mayor has announced that the fireworks will be held on Labor Day weekend August 30.
In the Herald, the mayor is quoted saying, “The circumstances at the time were beyond our control and we regretted canceling, but we’re not going to let them go to waste.”
