A Morehead couple were arrested and charged with drug trafficking after their vehicle broke down and a Magoffin County sheriff’s deputy stopped to help them.
The incident was on Rt 114 around 2 a.m. on Sunday when the deputy stopped to help the stranded motorist and noticed a box containing an orange substance on the ground next to the car.
Upon searching the vehicle, the deputy found another box disguised as the driver’s seat where the deputy allegedly found meth and drug paraphernalia.
The deputy then arrested the couple, Roger Chaney, Jr. and Maria Yates, both of Morehead.
