Reports of a man and woman fighting has led to the arrest of a Lawrence County man.
Charles Jeffery is being charged with first-degree assault resulting from an argument with his ex-wife where Jeffery is accused of pulling out a box cutter and threating to cut out the woman’s tongue.
Jeffery admitted to the argument but denied hurting the woman who showed police where she had allegedly been cut on the bottom of her tongue.
Jeffrey is being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.
