The Johnson Central Lady Eagles Softball Team got back to their Winning ways Wednesday afternoon with a (16-11) Victory over Barren Co, Ky, in the Florida Softball Beach Bash from Fr. Walton Beach Florida. The Lady Eagles had lost 4 straight games recently to very good competition, including their first two games in Florida, (9-7) in extra innings to Madison Central, Ky on Monday and (14-4) to Franklin- Simpson, Ky.
In Johnson Central’s win over Barren Co on Wednesday, the Lady Eagles scored 7 Runs on 4 Hits in the bottom of the 1st inning. The big hit was a 2-Run Home Run by Sr. Raelyn Adkins. So. Josie Dials would add a Home Run in the bottom of the 2nd. (This was Dials 2nd HR of the Day, She hit another HR vs Franklin-Simpson earlier in the Day).
Jr. Mayson DeLong had a Great Hitting Game, delivering 2 Hits (a Triple and a Double) and 3 RBI’s. Sr. Randi DeLong also had a good day at the plate with 3 hits in 5 at bats. She also collected 3 RBI’s and scored 3 Runs. Besides Adkins HR, she also had 3 RBI’s. Ashlyn Patrick, Sophie Younce and Addyson Burchett all contributed hits on the day. Burchett would also deliver 3 RBI’s and Dials would add 2 RBI’s.
Raelyn Adkins picked up the Win vs Barren Co, allowing 11 Runs in 19 Hits, striking out 3 and walking 2 batters in 7 innings.
Johnson Central improved their overall record at 8-4 on the season. They will continue their Spring Break Trip on Thursday vs Mercy Academy, Ky and vs Harrison Co, Ky on Friday, both games beginning at 11 AM.
