Kentucky has completed its statewide rollout of a new electronic search warrant system, replacing the traditional paper process with an online platform.
Officials say the program lets officers upload applications and evidence digitally, while judges can review and sign warrants remotely at any hour.
The system was first piloted in 2022 and is now used by dozens of agencies in Jefferson County, including Louisville Metro Police.
Court officials say safeguards are built in to reduce errors, though no system is entirely risk-free.
LMPD declined an interview but said it is proud to join the program.
