Johnson County Man Arrested Following Shooting

A Johnson County man was arrested for allegedly shooting his son last Friday. 

Fox 56 is reporting that the Kentucky State Police went to the home on Highway 1559 about 8 p.m. Friday night. 

Police report that 61-year-old Timothy Rivers was spotted through a window of the home.

When police entered the home, they found Rivers smoking a marijuana pipe with a rifle in front of him. 

Rivers allegedly told police that his son came into the room yelling, and he asked him to stop; when the son didn’t, he shot him. 

Rivers was charged with attempted murder and several other charges. 

Family members took the son to an area hospital for treatment.
