How to Bake a Turkey

Bailey Carter – My mom gets our turkey at Food City. When we get home, we cook our plain turkey in the oven for 20 minutes at 30 degrees. I like to eat my turkey with ketchup and nothing else with it. After I eat with my mom and dad, we will play kickball outside with my brothers. 

Paisley Carty – My dad, brother, and I will go hunting for our turkey. We chop its head and feathers off. We clean it off with wipes and tissues. Dad cooks our turkey and puts lots of sprinkles, chocolate, and salt on it. He will stuff the turkey with stuffing and cook it on the grill for 5 minutes at 10 degrees. I like to eat my turkey with chocolate, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie. After I eat with my family, we play toilet tag and blueberry tag outside for 10 hours. 

Jordan Earnest – My mamaw will go hunting for our turkey. She will skin the turkey and wipe it with a towel to clean it off. Mamaw will put ketchup, sprinkles, hot sauce, and bananas on it. She stuffs it full of ingredients. Mamaw will cook it outside at Papaw’s house with a fire for 20 minutes. I eat Thanksgiving with papaw, mamaw, grandpa, mom, dad, and my sisters. After we eat, we go outside and ride my side-by-side. 

Lincoln Gable – My dad will go hunt down a turkey. He chops off the head and gets all the feathers off the turkey. My mom will cook it, but first she will put salt, stuffing, and green food coloring inside the turkey. Mom will put the turkey over the fire and let it cook for 10 minutes. We eat pizza, cupcakes, and fruit-roll-ups with our turkey. I’ll eat dinner with my mom and dad. After we eat, we will go outside and play freeze-tag, hide-and-seek, and play on the swings. 

Swayzee Green – Mom will buy our turkey from Walmart for $10. Mom will put salt, pepper, and seasonings on it. Mom will cook the turkey in the oven for 1 hour at 10 degrees. I like to eat bread and mashed potatoes with my turkey and that is all. I will eat dinner with my brother, Kingston, and my mommy and daddy. After my food digests, I will ask mom to play outside with my brother and we will play lots of different games. 

Gabe Gullett – My Pops will go to Walmart and get our turkey for $50. Pops will take our turkey home and put the plain turkey in the oven for about 20-30 minutes at 400 degrees. We will eat broccoli, lettuce, chicken legs and wings, and the chicken head with our turkey head. I don’t like turkey, but I have tried it before. After we all eat, we relax on the couch at Pops house. Then my family and I will go back home and relax some more and my sister and I will play with our toys. 

Pyper Hall – Dad will get our turkey from Walmart for $6. Mom and dad will cook the turkey, but first they will add butter on top and stuffing inside. Mom will bake the turkey in the oven for 8 minutes at 10 degrees. We will eat mashed potatoes, stuffing, and peas with our turkey. I will eat dinner with all my family. After I eat I will go to the park and play with Zeplyn, Ryleigh, and Piper. 

Conner Hensley – Mom will buy the turkey from Walmart for $11. Walmart will cook our turkey for us and they put a bunch of ketchup and salt on it. They will put bananas and cupcakes inside to make it extra sweet. They will cook it in the oven for 60 minutes at 5 degrees. Walmart will call mom when our turkey is done and will deliver it to our house. I like to eat bananas, mashed potatoes, and chicken nuggets with my turkey. I will eat dinner with my family and after I eat I will play video games and play outside with my friends. 

Roman Hitchcock – Mamaw will get our turkey from Food City for $50. Mamaw will take it home and cover the turkey with some ketchup. She puts the turkey in the oven for 40 minutes at 4 degrees. I like to eat my turkey with blue Dorito chips and vanilla ice cream. I will eat dinner with all my family and my friend Cooper. After we eat, I will play hide-and-seek or tag with Cooper for 10 minutes at my house. 

Cohen Martin – My granny or my Mimi will get our turkey from Walmart for $20. They both will use seasonings and ketchup on top. They will bake the turkey in the oven for 20 minutes at 10 degrees. I like to eat tomatoes, chocolate covered granola bars, and strawberries with my turkey. I will eat dinner with my whole family. After we eat, I will play with legos, battleships, and cars with my whole family. 

Piper Maynard – Dad will get our turkey from the Dollar General for $6. Dad will put salt and pepper on it. He will cook it inside on the stove for 30 minutes on low temperature. I like to eat strawberries, mashed potatoes, and sugared strawberries on the side with my turkey. I will eat dinner with my mommy, Cody, and dadda. After we eat, I will play with baby dolls in my room with Scarlett. 

Ellie McCoy – Dad will go hunting for our turkey. He will clean everything off the turkey and then he will put salt on it and fluff inside the turkey. He will inject the turkey with chicken juice so that it is extra juicy and extra flavor. He will also make cupcakes beside it. He will cook it outside in the oven for 3-5 hours at 16 degrees. I will eat my turkey with gummies, cupcakes, and lots of cake. I will eat dinner with my whole family. After we eat, my daddy and I will go paint on the neighbors walls. 

Brandon McDaniel – I will go turkey hunting with my mom. I will clean the turkey with my Paw Patrol towel and grab the feathers. I will put sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles, and chili on top and put popsicles on the inside. I will cook the turkey on the grill for 5 minutes at 10 degrees. I like to eat popsicles, extra sprinkles, chili, pineapple, and bread with my turkey. I will eat dinner with my mom, dad, and my sisters. After we eat, I will go ride my golf cart with my sister. 

Aubree McGuire – Memaw will get our turkey from Food City for $3. Memaw will take it home and put lemon, cheese, lettuce, and ranch on it. She will stuff the turkey with lots of lemons. Memaw will cook the turkey in the air fryer for 5 hours at 6 degrees. I like to eat my turkey with lettuce, cheese, broccoli, eggs, and lots of cake. I will eat dinner with my Memaw, Papaw, and my mom. After I eat, I will play outside on the swings and slide. 

Heyden Merino – Dad will buy a live turkey from the farm store for $5. Dad will rope the turkey up so he doesn’t get away or hit by a truck. Dad will kill the turkey when he gets home. He will put apple sticks, ketchup, and water all over it and shake it up. He will cook it in the oven for 1 minute at 1 degree. I will eat my turkey with apples and drink my milk. I will eat dinner with mama, daddy, and JJ. After I eat, I will play video games, watch TV, and play legos with daddy.

Ryleigh Sexton – Dad will buy our turkey at Walmart for $24.50. Mom and Dad will put sprinkles, icing, and ice cream all over it. They will put chicken inside it to make it taste good and they will wrap it with bacon. Mom and Dad will bake the turkey in the oven for 10 minutes at 5 degrees. I love to eat dirt cake, bacon, mac and cheese, and corn with my turkey. I will eat dinner with Mammy, Pappy, Mom, Dad, and Rifton. After we eat, we will have breakfast and play tag with Sofie. 

Royal’e Thomas – Mom will buy our turkey at Food City for $5. Mom will put salt, pepper, soy sauce, and hot sauce all over it. She will put garlic inside the turkey. Mom will bake the turkey in the oven for 5 minutes at 10 degrees. I love to eat broccoli, cabbage, ice cream, and vanilla cake with my turkey. I will eat dinner with all my siblings, my mom, my grandma, and my whole family. After I eat, I will play with my tablet and ask my mom for a lollipop and pink ice cream with gummies before I go to bed.

We will go hunt our turkey on a farm.  After we get home, my mom will cook it in the oven at 40 degrees for 8 minutes.  We will eat our turkey with ham, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes.  I will eat with Ronnie, Brantlee, Mom and Dad, all of my family that I like spending time with.  After we eat, we will all play games on my tablet. 

Briston Morris, age 5 

My family gets our turkey at Walmart.  To cook it, my mom will put it in the oven for 4 minutes at 4 degrees.  We will have the turkey with some other meat.  I will eat with all of my family for Thanksgiving.  After we eat, I will help clean up everything.

Zoey Bowen, age 5

We get our turkey from our house.  To make the turkey we will put a lot of powder on it.  Next, we will put it on the stove and we will cook it on cold for 5 minutes.  We will eat it with a bunch of other stuff.  I will eat with my sister, mom and dad.  After we eat, we will all play.  

Callie Campbell, age 5

Well we will probably go get our turkey from a barn somewhere.  My dad will cook it on the stove with salt, chocolate, nerds, Kool-Aid and Prime.  It will have to cook on the stove at 50,000 degrees for 100 hours.  When it is all done, I will eat with my daddy and mommy.  After it is over, we will play games together.

Bentley Farrar, age 5

My family gets our turkey from the store.  My mom will put butter on it and cook it in the oven.  It will need to stay in the oven on 2 degrees for 2 minutes.  I will get to eat with Mamaw, mom and papaw.  After we eat, everyone will play with me!

Dolly Hinkle, age 5

My mom will get me a turkey from Walmart.  After she gets it home from the store she will cover it in seasonings and salsa and also get out the plates and drinks.  She will cook it really big and put at 20,000 degrees for 16 seconds.  When it is all done, we will eat.  I will eat some mac and cheese.  I will eat with my mom, dad and brother.

Well, I will probably get my turkey from the grocery store because that’s where we get our food.  My mom will cover it all in stuffing and stick it right in the oven.  She will cook it on 4 degrees for 10 minutes.  Then it will be done!  I will eat with all of my family.  After we eat, I get to play with my cousins.

We get our turkey at Walmart.  When my mom cooks it, she will put it in the oven.  First, she will cover it all up in butter, steak sauce and little pieces of chicken.  Then she will cook it in the oven at 5 degrees for 1 minute.  When it’s all done, I will eat our dinner with my parents, sister and all of our friends.  After it is all done, I will play outside on my bike. 

Coalton Jude, age 6

We get our turkey from the store, probably Walmart.  We will probably cook it together in a big pot.  First, we will have to put salt, tomatoes, and pepper all over it.  Mom will probably cook it for 50 minutes and dad will probably cook it for 15 minutes.  We will know it is done when it gets to 50 degrees and it starts boiling. I will eat with my mommy, daddy and my sisters.  After dinner we will eat all the dessert and candy.

Emersyn Lauffer, age 6

I buy my turkey from Walmart.  Grams will cook my turkey for me.  She will cook it on the stove and put some butter and salt on it.  She will cook it on cold and hot for 77 minutes.  I will get to eat Thanksgiving dinner with all of my family.  After we eat, I will probably play on my phone. 

Hayden Mayes, age 5

I will probably get my turkey from the desert.  I will have to hunt it with dad and then cook it on the fireplace at our house.  I will need sparkles to put all over my turkey before I cook it.  We will probably have to cook it for 2 hours on a little hot.  I will eat with my family and my cat Ozzy.  After we eat, I will play Roblox on my iPad. 

Oliver Moore, age 5

My family buys our turkey from the market.  We like to cook it with salt and some chicken.  My mom will probably put it on the stove at 5 degrees for about 15 minutes.  I will eat dinner with my best friend and my parents that I love.  After we eat, I will play outside with my friends. 

Bailey Powell, age 6

We will get our turkey at the store, probably my mom.  She cooks it with some chicken and some bones.  Then she will put it in the oven on very, very hot for like 1 minute.  I will eat with my mom, Granny Sam and just my whole family.  After we eat, I will probably play on my VR Headset 3. 

Eli Spradlin, age 6

I will get my turkey from a farm.  Mom will have to put it in a very giant oven with some ham and some bones.  It will have to be cooked on cold for 5 and on hot for 10.  It will need to stay in the oven for about 8 or 10 hours.  I will eat with Mom, Dad, Alivia, Brayden, Nana and Grammy.  After we eat, we will all go to someone’s pool to swim. 

Kash Toole, age 5

I will get my turkey with my little brother, Walker.  We will cook it in the microwave for a million hours because it will be colder than an igloo.  We will cook it with potatoes and mashed bananas.  After it’s done, we will all eat.  I will eat with my mom, little brother and daddy. After we eat, we will all play games. 

Bear Williams, age 5

My family will probably get our turkey from a farm.  Once we get it, Mom will cook it in the oven.  Before we cook it, we will put on salt and a different kind of salt.  We will cook it on one degree hot for 10 minutes.  I will eat dinner with all of my family.  After we eat, we will clean up.

Audrey Williamson, age 6

I will get my turkey from a turkey farm.  We will put some sprinkles, chocolate and suckers on it before we cook it. We will cook it on a stove at a little hot for 1 hour.  I will get to eat with my mom, dad and baby brother.  After we eat, I will probably draw. 

AvaLynn Sexton, age 6  

We get our turkey and ham from the Dollar Tree.  Mom and Mammy Sam make the turkey.  First, they get the white stuff out of it and then they put grease in it with salt, pepper and macaroni and cheese.  They put it in the oven at 98 degrees for 45 minutes.  I will eat with my baby sisters, Mammy, Sam, Mom, Dad, and Kiki, Brighton, Paizleigh, and Gypsy.  After dinner I will go play in my room and watch Ms. Rachael.
