Governor Announces New Eastern Kentucky Housing Funding

Governor Andy Beshear says the state is continuing to expand housing for Eastern Kentucky families affected by flooding.

The governor announced more than 1-point-7 million dollars for the Perry County Fiscal Court to build five homes above the flood plain in the Chavies community, along with the infrastructure needed to support the project.

Beshear also says construction is moving forward at the Chestnut Ridge development in Knott County, where three more homes are expected to be framed and sided by the end of this week.

State officials say eight high-ground housing developments across Eastern Kentucky are expected to provide more than 500 new homes for flood survivors.
