The burning ban imposed in Johnson County on March 10, 2025, has been lifted, effective immediately.
In the executive order, Johnson County Judge-Executive Mark McKenzie states that the rainfall this weekend was sufficient to help lesson the chances of wildfires for the next few days.
Residents are cautioned to be careful to monitor any fire on their property, to comply with the state regulations restricting open burning during the Spring Season.
Those restrictions only permit burning between the hours of 6 P.M. and 6 A.M. and 150 feet from any woodland or brushland.
