The National Weather Service in Jackson has placed southeast Kentucky under an Extreme Heat Advisory through Friday, July 3rd, with high pressure keeping conditions hot and humid into the July 4th weekend.
Heat index values are nearing 100 degrees in many areas, so please be sure you stay hydrated while outdoors, take breaks in the shade, never leave your kids or pets in vehicles and check on your elderly neighbors and family
