Magoffin County Woman Charged After Domestic Dispute, Assault on Deputy

A Magoffin County woman faces multiple charges following a domestic dispute that escalated into an assault on law enforcement. 

On Tuesday, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 hang-up call at a residence on Ed Hensley Road.

Investigators report that an altered verbal argument between two intoxicated individuals turned physical in front of three juvenile children. 

The female suspect was arrested at the scene.

Authorities state she became highly combative during booking, injuring a deputy with her keys.

She is currently lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on charges including Domestic Violence and Fourth-Degree Assault on a Peace Officer.

The Department for Community Based Services has been notified regarding the children.
