Prestonsburg Police believe a crash that closed part of US 23 Wednesday morning may have been caused by a driver falling asleep.
It happened around 6am when a van slammed into the back of a log truck.
While the exact cause is still under investigation, officers think the driver of the van may have fallen asleep just before hitting the truck.
That driver is in serious but stable condition; the driver of the log truck was not hurt.
