More cases of whooping cough are being confirmed in Floyd County.
The Floyd County Health Department says three additional cases have been confirmed, bringing the county-wide total to 17 so far this season.
Whooping cough often begins with symptoms like a common cold, but can progress into severe and or prolonged coughing fits.
Across Kentucky, there have been more confirmed whooping cough cases this year than any year since 2012.
