A former USP Big Sandy Lieutenant Michael J. Childers is facing up to 20 years in prison and a fine up to $250,00 after entering a guilty plea Monday to falsifying records in what prosecutors describe as a coordinated cover-up of an April 2021 assault on a vulnerable inmate seeking protective custody.
No sentencing date has yet been entered.
