The man who died in a fire in Floyd County has been identified.
The Floyd County sheriffs office says Marvin Howard didn’t make it out of the fire on Barn Road in the Garrett community Monday night.
First responders say they saw the flames as they pulled up and couldn’t get into the house right away because of the intense flames and smoke and mutual aid was called in from several surrounding communities for help.
Rescuers say they eventually found Howard in the living room, where they think the fire started.
The investigation continues into what caused the fire.
