Another weekend dealing with flooding in Kentucky. On Sunday, over 400 roadways in the commonwealth of Kentucky were flooded. This is the second time in just under two months that flooding has hit the Big Sandy.
Flooding was reported in Breathitt, Pike, Floyd, Magoffin, Johnson, and Martin counties.
Six people in Inez had to be rescued from their homes by swift water rescue teams as flood waters rose.
KY RT 1107 (Davis Branch) in Johnson County had two slides over the weekend and will be closed several days for cleanup and repairs.
The Floyd County Animal Shelter reported that the ditch behind the shelter caused the center to flood as workers evacuated the animals in the shelter.
