STEELE, Ky. (January 14, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post received a call on Saturday, January 11, 2025, regarding a shooting in the Steele community of Pike County.
KSP troopers and investigators responded to a residence on Laurel Fork where they discovered one male subject was deceased.
The initial investigation indicated Christopher Lester, 42 years old of Steele, suffered fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Pike County Coroner’s Office. Lester’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
As a result of this investigation, two individuals were arrested. Michael Brown was arrested and lodged in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail on charges of Murder and Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon. Anthony Browning was arrested and lodged in the Southwestern Regional Jail on charges of Murder and Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon.
