Two East Kentucky Projects Receiving Economic Development Funding

Two projects in Eastern Kentucky will receive grant money from the state Economic Development Finance Authority.  

The Floyd County Fiscal Court will receive $2 million to purchase 50 acres of land on behalf of the Big Sandy Development District to develop the Thunder Ridge Industrial Park.  

Coal Fields Regional Industrial Authority, Inc., on behalf of the city of Hazard, is the second project to construct a secondary water treatment plant and transmission line at the Park in Perry County.

This is a regional project with support from Breathitt, Knott, and Perry counties.

The project’s total cost investment is over $37.7 million, with $4.2 million of funding from the state.
