Pre-Trial Hearing in Amber Spradlin Murder Case Held

In the pretrial hearing, prosecutors in the trial of M.K. McKinney gave the court some evidence in the murder of Amber Spradlin and the alleged cover up.

The evidence includes DNA found under the victim’s fingernails and a transcript of a 911 call the suspect’s father made that shows he knew the nature of the victim’s injuries.

The prosecution also alleged that the suspect’s father, Michael McKinney, II, called the police chief in Prestonsburg who is a close friend.

When authorities questioned the chief about the call, he would only say that he told McKinney to call 911.

The father and Josh Mullins were indicted on tampering charges and have pleaded not guilty.
