Winter Storm Update from the Johnson County Fiscal Court – January 16, 2024 at 12:45pm
The Winter storm and extremely cold temperatures, along with measurable snowfall that began yesterday continues to cause considerable challenges for road crews and their equipment. We are asking everyone who doesn’t have to be on the roads to remain where they are to limit the possibility of accidents and to allow road crews a better opportunity to continue clearing roads. The County has contracted additional services to assist with clearing County roads however until the temperatures improve and road salt can be effective, the road conditions will be continue to be hazardous. We really appreciate the efforts of the road department staff and the patience of our residents as we all work together to get through this winter weather event. Also, the Johnson County Fiscal Court in partnership with Addiction Recovery Care (ARC) have opened a warming center on the lower level of the County building located at 342 Second St, Paintsville. In the event of an emergency, please call 911. Please call Paintsville/Johnson County Emergency Management at 606-789-4221 for additional information.
