* Univ. of Kentucky Guard Reed Sheppard has won his second Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week award of the season. On December 21 versus Louisville, Reed recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 11 assists, in the 95-76 UK win. Reed’s first SEC Freshman of the Week was for his performance against Miami and UNC-Wilmington, when he averaged 23 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals per game.
* Kentucky will return to the hardwood on Friday, December 29 when the Cats host Illinois State. Game time is set for 7 PM on the SEC Network.
