Some Martin County Residents Losing Water Services for 14 Hours Daily

Residents in portions of Martin County are outraged after the Martin County Water District announced it’d be turning the water supply off to about half of the county every day 3PM through the overnight hours until further notice.

In a Facebook post, the water district said the cut is necessary to avoid water outages for the entire county.

Residents east of Buck Creek Mountain, including those in Warfield, Beauty, Lovely and Pigeon Roost are among those affected.

Meanwhile, the water company is reportedly seeking a rate increase of nearly fifty percent.
