Press Release From: Paintsville/Johnson County Emergency Management
The installation of our first outdoor warning siren is being completed this week. The Outdoor Warning Siren is located at the Paintsville Fire Department Station 1 at 116 Main Street. The installation will be completed on Friday March 10th. Upon completion we will be activing the siren multiple times to test the operation of the unit.
The outdoor warning siren will be tested monthly weather permitting, on the first Monday of each month at 12:00 p.m.
Remember that outdoor warning sirens are designed to be heard outside. Emergency Management still recommends that weather alert radios be used in homes and business. Also we have the Code Red System where you can register your phone information to get the weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service in Jackson. You can register by calling our office at 606-789-2260.
