PAINTSVILLE, KY (WKLW) – An organizational meeting was held on Tuesday evening at the Paintsville Recreation Center in hopes of forming a “Friday Night Market” this summer in downtown Paintsville.
Several people attended the meeting, hosted by Paintsville Main Street and Paintsville Tourism, with the goal of “Livening Up Downtown Paintsville.”
“Our goal is to get people downtown and to help the downtown businesses,” said Kay Hall, organizer.
The Friday Night Market is still in the planning phases, but hopes to become a reality by this summer.
Organizers are looking to speak with artists, crafters, along with local farmers who would be interested in setting up to market their goods.
Main Street Director Bonnie Porter says venders could set up, free of charge, but would need to bring their own tables or tents.
Entertainment will also be needed at the event.
Anyone interested in being a part of the Friday Night Market in Downtown Paintsville can contact Paintsville Main Street or Paintsville Tourism on Facebook.
Organizers plan on holding the first event in June, and continuing the first Friday of each month into the fall season.
